Time and time again children who play Club Penguin look for ways they can help others and make a difference, both in the virtual world of Club Penguin and in the real world. Cultivating that spirit of giving and of social responsibility is important to us too.
Coins for Change is a result of children’s ideas and passion for making a difference. It’s about empowering children to affect change in the real world by having fun in Club Penguin.
Here’s how it works: From December 14th through 24th, kids can donate the virtual coins they accumulate by playing games in Club Penguin to a cause that matters to them. They can donate to support the environment, children in developing countries or children’s health. At the end of the campaign a cumulative total of $1M real cash will be donated to three organizations that represent those categories.
Here’s the really exciting part. The kids decide how much of the $1M will go to each organization based on their coin donations. If players allocate more coins to children’s health, a proportionally higher percentage of the total cash donation will go to the organization that represents that cause.
It’s our way of giving the children who play Club Penguin an opportunity to have a real impact in a way that matters to them.
We’re excited about Coins for Change. We hope it helps the children who participate in this exciting campaign gain a vision of how they can make a difference in the lives of others.
Yellow Puffles!!
Hello Penguins!
Hopefully most of you have had a chance to see the newest member of the puffle family! The Yellow Puffle was discovered around the launch of The Stage and they definitely love their art. As always, we’d love to hear what you think! It is currently only available for members, but don’t worry, we plan to have some cool free stuff for everyone at the Christmas party! Speaking of Christmas, I heard there might be another igloo contest coming up so be sure to start thinking about how to decorate your igloo for this event!
In other news: We are really excited about “Coins for Change” and we hope you are too. There has been some confusion and so I’ll try to help clear it up. Club Penguin has dedicated $1 million real dollars to give away, but you will be able to use your coins to say where it goes. When the program starts on December 14th, you will be able to decide between three different places to give your coins. You can give to just one, or all three, its up to you. At the end, we will figure out how many coins went to each group and the real money will be given to them. Since this money comes from a portion of each subscription, we wanted you to help decide where it goes! Hopefully that makes sense. We’ll explain more as we get closer to starting.
Western Party!!
Hello Penguins!
The votes were counted, and it turns out you all wanted to see the Western Party one more time!! A lot has changed in Club Penguin since the last Western Party, so our team worked hard to add a few more rooms and a few new features like the bonfire and the tumbleweeds. As always, we’d love to hear what part you like the best so we can all keep making Club Penguin even better!
In other news: We’ve got some really cool stuff coming up later this month and next so be sure to keep checking in because you won’t want to miss it!
Surprise Party!!
Hello Penguins!
I hope you’re all as excited as I am about the surprise party this weekend. I can’t say what it is yet, so you’ll have to show up this weekend to find out. It’s going to be a lot of fun and our team is working hard to add some cool stuff to it that wasn’t in the party last time. It would be great to see everyone there, so I hope you and your friends can make it!
Also, there have been some reports of yellow Puffles lately and although I’ve tried to check it out, I can’t quite say anything about it right now. Hopefully I can find out some more information and let you know soon.
In other news: We’re still working hard on our new “smarter” filter that hopefully will make it even easier to chat with your friends while still staying as safe as possible. I’ll let you know when we get closer to launching it but I think it will be really cool.
The Stage!!
Hello Penguins!
If you haven’t already seen it, you should definitely check out the new stage! We hope Club Penguin is always a place to express your creativity and I’m sure The Stage is going to make that even better. Some fun things to do are to use the script and put on a costume to put on a play, or just hang out and watch a great show. If you’re into music and have an instrument, the black area in front of the stage is for you to use. It’s called “the pit” in stage language.
If you haven’t already noticed, if you open up the script and then go to your igloo, you can use the script to rehearse in your igloo! Also, the costumes and sets will change in the future. So get your friends together and put on a show! The great thing about Club Penguin is there will always be an audience!
Rockhopper's Back!
Hello Penguins!
This weekend marks the return of Captain Rockhopper after being gone for a while. He’s been spotted hanging around on his ship, at the beach, in the plaza, and a few other places. I hope everyone gets the chance to meet him because it's a lot of fun!
In other news: Construction is going well in the Plaza and I think it's going to be really cool when it's done. Also, don’t forget to keep voting for your favorite party, it's going to be a blast!!
